A little preparation before the overnight bag comes out. This is an example care journey, not a promise of suitability.

Read our care approach
  1. Have a conversation

Talk about routines, exercise, food and what helps your dog feel settled.

  2. Make an introduction

A visit or trial day helps the team discuss whether boarding is the right fit.

  3. Arrive with familiar things

Bring usual food and a favourite blanket at the agreed arrival time.

BEFORE THE LEAD COMES OFF

A few good questions.

Is this a real boarding kennel?

No. Barkwell is a fictional website demo. Photos are illustrative, prices and care details are examples, and no stay can be booked here.

What happens before a first stay?

On a real site the team would discuss your dog’s routine, health and behaviour, then arrange an introduction before deciding whether boarding is suitable. A request does not reserve a space.

What should I bring?

Your dog’s usual food in labelled portions, a familiar blanket and contact details would be useful. Agree any medication and special requirements directly with the team first.

Can dogs share a sleeping space?

The family lodge example is for compatible dogs from one household. Sharing would depend on an individual assessment and your agreement.

What about vaccines or medication?

A real kennel would explain its current admission policy and discuss care needs before accepting a dog. Do not send veterinary records or sensitive details through this demo.

Are the photographs the actual kennels?

No. They are licensed stock photographs of dogs, chosen to illustrate outdoor time and rest. They do not show a Barkwell facility.
